International Health Certificates including Hawaii

As federally accredited veterinarians, we can issue travel health
certificates so your pet may travel internationally with you. If you are
traveling with your pet to another country or to Hawaii, you must have a
health certificate and meet all requirements for your destination. These
requirements, and their timing, vary by country and change frequently.
Many destinations have very specific prerequisites for vaccines,
microchipping, lab testing and parasite treatments. Some countries
require a 6 month wait before travel.

Please check the USDA website early in your planning for the current
requirements of your destination country/Hawaii.
As early as possible, we will review all documents, and the doctor will
perform an initial exam. Vaccines will be updated as required and a
microchip will be confirmed or implanted. Additionally, lab testing may
be performed.

Multiple visits may be needed to ensure all requirements are complete.
A second exam with the doctor will be performed closer to your
departure date. If needed, parasite treatments will be administered. If all
requirements are met and the pre-travel exam is normal, a health
certificate will be issued by the USDA. Only healthy pets are permitted
to travel by plane. Your pet will need to meet all requirements to enter
your destination country/Hawaii.

If you are taking a short trip rather than moving to a new country, please
consider if your pet may be more comfortable staying home.

Travel within the U.S.A. except Hawaii

If you are traveling within the USA, your pet may require an exam
and a health certificate prior to travel. A health certificate is a
federal document that indicates your pet is healthy to travel
performed by an accredited veterinarian.

If traveling by plane each airline has their own prerequisites.
Please make sure to check with your airline in advance for their
specific requirements. Most airlines require an exam or health
certificate to be performed within 10 days of travel. If a health
certificate is required your pet will need a full exam and up to date
rabies vaccination to travel.

Each state has their own requirements for pet travel. Please visit
the APHIS website for the most up to date information.
